Account Verification
Verifying every player
Accounts can be opened only in regions whose laws permit online gambling. Every account has to meet Canadian requirements for age verification, identity checks and anti-money-laundering controls. Verification establishes who you are, that you are at least 19, and that the money in your account comes from legitimate sources. We accept your first deposit only after confirming both your identity and your location (geolocation).
The checks protect you as well, by preventing anyone else from setting up an account under your name or making use of your payment methods.
Monitoring accounts over time
Verification does not stop once you have registered. We keep monitoring transactions, including the size and frequency of deposits, your play and your withdrawals. Unusual patterns, for example a large deposit with little play and then a withdrawal request, lead to additional checks. We may also request current documents if your personal details change or a document expires.
Handling incomplete or failed checks
If verification cannot be finished, or if your documents are unclear, have been altered or show information that differs from what is on your account, we will take these steps:
- freeze deposits, gameplay and withdrawals until everything is sorted out
- request further information by email
- close the account where checks still cannot be completed or fraud is found
When we close an account, the remaining balance is handled in line with Canadian law and our Account Terms. If the law requires it, we may keep funds linked to suspected criminal activity.
Keeping records and reporting
Canadian law sets a retention period, and we keep your transaction history and verification documents for all of it. Storage is secure, and handling follows our Privacy Notice.
If the law requires a filing, transactions that are large or suspicious are filed with the appropriate Canadian authorities. In some cases, we cannot legally tell the player concerned that it was made.
Checking sanctions lists and politically exposed status
We check every player against Canadian and international sanctions lists. We also screen for politically exposed persons, that is, people in prominent public office, together with their families and people closely connected to them.
A match does not lead to automatic refusal, but enhanced checks are carried out before play can continue. Players subject to sanctions are not accepted.
Confirming identity and age
When you register, we collect four details: your birth date, name, email address and home address. These are then verified against trusted electronic data sources. If that electronic match cannot confirm who you are, we may request documents including:
- valid photo identification from a government authority, such as your passport or a driver's licence
- a utility bill or bank statement with your home address, dated within recent months
- evidence that the payment method you deposit with belongs to you, such as a bank statement or a screenshot taken from your PayPal or online banking account
Documents must be in colour, clear and show all corners. For cards, hide the security code and the middle digits before you send them.
Explaining source of funds
We will ask you to explain and document the origin of your funds if your deposits rise to higher levels or your activity does not match your player profile. Documents we accept include bank statements, payslips, savings records, inheritance documents and sale paperwork for a property or business.
Interac withdrawals are capped at C$10 000 per transaction, while bank transfers allow up to C$40 000, so bigger cash-outs can also trigger these checks. Providing documents in advance helps payouts go through without delay.
